The Food Lovers Guide in Iloilo City
Few weeks ago I did write about my 5-day trip in the city of gentle people, I had a great time introducing myself all over again to the city, meeting old and new friends and of course indulging to all the delectable food that the city could offer. I thank God for my job that gives me an avenue to travel from one city after another, as they say, work hard and travel harder.
So here I am again, giving you a glimpse of my list of to-go-to, this time in the city of Love. I won’t be sighting familiar places that most of you already know about, such as Madge Café, JD bakeshop and all sorts that most people in Iloilo or in nearby city already knows of.
These city spots may have existed for some time already but not everyone knows about it, now, you can add this in your list if ever you decide to give Iloilo City a visit. <3
Molo Mansion has now opened its gate to the public of Iloilo last September 2015. Giving way for local artist to showcase their Arts, crafts and also native delicacies. SM Land now owns this place; they were able to restore the Mansions beauty, as it has stood tall since 1926.
The place gave me the chills and nostalgic feeling.
As you enter the room you will find KULTURA; SM’s retail store of native products, they have dresses, hats, and small artifacts for sale. There are also exhibits of Ilonggo artist located at the back part of the mansion.
Molo Mansion is located at Loctin Street, Plaza Molo, Iloilo City.
At the back of the Mansion you will find Café Panay. A coffee shop that offers local Panay and Guimaras Products. My friends did mention that they serve the yummiest fried ibos in town!
I was a bit full during my visit, but I was up to try their local brewed coffee.
The weather was close to perfection that day, I sat outside, with a gentle blow of the wind and quietness of the place, I have found myself a sanctuary out of this place.
Store Hours: Monday to Sunday 8AM – 8PM
After I sipped my coffee I went for a short walk in the garden. There I found Table Matters, an alfresco refreshment under a century old balete tree.
They have the nicest crew ever. Kuya was kind enough to educate me about their special Bluternate flower icecream
One of my friends suggested that I should try it, claiming that it gave her a good night sleep that day when she tried the bluternate flower icecream.
Here are the many benefits of Blue Ternate Flower:
- Full of Anti-Oxidant
- Memory Enhancer
- Good for sleep
In all honesty, I had a good night sleep that day.
Dova Brunch Café
For brunch lovers out there like me, this is the place that you must visit. Kudos to the owner Miguel Cordova for opening their 2nd branch at Megaworld, Business Park, Iloilo City.
With their high ceiling and chic interiors, you can really say that the owner has spent a lot of time and effort in thinking through how he wanted his store to look like and taste like.
Though their food seemed to be pricey for some, they will certainly not cheapen you when it comes to taste and presentation.
I stayed for a little while, knowing how cozy their place and comfy their chairs are. This place is ideal for people who wants a plate full of flavor, and days of long talks with family and friends.
Store Hours: Monday to Sunday 9AM to 9PM
Farm to Table
And if you’re at Megaworld Business Park still trying to figure out where to eat, why not try Farm to Table.
I don’t know what hit me these days as I have been eating healthy and organic food lately. (haha no kidding). So I had lunch at Farm to Table while waiting for the clock to hit 3PM as I prepare to leave the city and head home.
I had the biggest plate of their orange Chicken and a glass of their medium coffee. Their food is fresh from the farm and I love how they cater organic coffee’s.
They also have a wide choices of wines from all over the world.
The place was full packed during lunch time and I enjoyed watching other costumers enjoying their meals.
Their interiors were intentionally designed to welcome customers during night time, this bistro serves both the young and old and a go-to for the healthy buffs and young professionals wanting to chill down after a long day shift.
Store Hours: Monday to Sunday 11AM – 11PM
